Music Memories #2

I e-mailed my mom the question about her music memories as a child and how they changed as she became older.  She said that the first music she listened to was her parents as come to think of it, so was it for me as well.  She use to listened to classical music until rock n' roll came.  She really liked the fact that it got everyone dancing.  The first rock artist she remembers was Chubby Checkers for the song "the Twist".  As she grew up in the sixties, there was a lot of music that was coming in and the music she enjoyed the most was the Beetles.  She also grew up listening to bands like Simon and Garfunkle, Carol King, Judy Collins mainly because they were groups yo could get up and dance to.  She even saw Miles Davis and was blown away.  this same music is still what she listens to along with some modern groups like Regina Spector, Fiest, and Frou Frou.  Lyrics are very important to her as she likes to sing them often.  Even though her family, my family, are not very big dancers, she still enjoys to sing and listen to music that her family listen to as it is good music.  And to this day, her favorite band is still the Beetles as it is that she knows every word to all the songs.

You Mom and I must be around the same age -- we listened to a lot of the same music.

Just fix the spelling -- it's the Beatles.
